Postal Service delivery operations in Virginia found tens of thousands of pieces of delayed mail, improper package scanning and serious accountability failures with arrow keys — the keys that can open multiple mailboxes across an entire ZIP code. Postal Service Office of Inspector General reviewed operations at four delivery units in the Virginia District: the Norfolk Sorting and Delivery Center, Lynchburg Main Post Office, Suffolk Main Post Office and Virginia Beach Main Post Office. WTKR reached out to the Postal Service for comment regarding the audit, and they directed WTKR to their responses in the report.

U.S. Rep. Dusty Johnson is calling on the U.S. Postal Service to address ongoing mail delivery delays affecting parts of South Dakota, particularly in the Sioux Falls area and surrounding communities.

Postal Service, accusing Postmaster General David Steiner of ignoring congressional oversight while demanding records on the agency's use of outside restructuring consultants as USPS projects billions more in financial losses. In a letter obtained by Fox News Digital, the Missouri Republican said his office has received no documents in response to a June 30 oversight request and informed Steiner that the investigation will now examine USPS' hiring of consulting firm Alvarez& Marsal. In his latest letter, Hawley said USPS has yet to comply with his original document requests.

Maybe the most important one is that while LTL companies make up 28% of the trucking industry, according to ATRI data, they were 47.8% of respondents. Driver costs: The costs of compensating drivers rose at what ATRI called “a sub-inflationary rate.” Industry-wide driver wages rose 2.5% last year, ATRI said, adding that the ratio between driver wages and consumer inflation was similar to 2024 when the split was 2.4% for driver wages and 2.9% for inflation. Differences in size: ATRI’s research on driver wages found that wages for 26-truck fleets were just 4.5 cts/mile less than those of 1,000-truck fleets.

A Michigan federal jury has sided with engine and truck manufacturer Navistar, rejecting a $16.5 million lawsuit brought by GLS LeasCo and Central Transport. GLS LeasCo and Central Transport alleged Navistar’s delayed truck deliveries caused millions in lost resale value and higher operating costs during one of the hottest used-truck markets in history. The 10-person jury found on Monday that GLS LeasCo and Central Transport failed to prove their breach of contract and fraud claims after a multi-year dispute over the delivery of 1,100 International tractors ordered in 2022.

The Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association(OOIDA) is urging House Speaker Mike Johnson to bring Dalilah’s Law to the House floor, stating Congress should permanently codify recent federal reforms restricting non-domiciled commercial driver’s licenses. “As the nation’s largest association representing small-business truckers and professional drivers, OOIDA argues that Congress must codify the U.S. Department of Transportation ’s recent Final Rule on non-domiciled CDLs so it cannot be weakened or reversed by a future administration,” OOIDA said in the letter. OOIDA argues the driver would not have qualified for a CDL had the provisions contained in Dalilah’s Law already been in effect.

Operating income of $259 million (plus-32% y/y) was driven by higher revenue and recent cost reductions. J.B. Hunt’s ( NASDAQ: JBHT) intermodal revenue increased 22% y/y to $1.75 billion as loads were up 10% and revenue per load was 11% higher. The increase was entirely attributable to an increase in revenue per truck per week (due to higher fuel surcharges).
