FedEx has announced its peak season surcharges for 2026, a move that will increase delivery costs during the holiday shipping rush, according to a report from Supply Chain Dive. The largest year-over-year increases in FedEx's peak fees are concentrated in lower-cost, high-volume segments such as Ground Residential and Ground Economy. In February, EVP and Chief Customer Officer Brie Carere described peak season surcharges as a mutually beneficial arrangement for that customer segment and FedEx, allowing customers to sell during Christmas while enabling the carrier to profitably bring on the necessary resources.
