More than one-third (37.9%) of surveyed online grocery shoppers reported that they conducted “most” or “all, or almost all” of their digital grocery shopping with a rapid delivery service over the past year, signaling that this fulfillment method is increasingly being used for routine grocery shopping, according to the report. Coresight advised retailers to continue positioning their rapid delivery service as a full-basket shopping option in order to capitalize on the growing use of the service. Delivery has been a fulfillment frontrunner in online grocery for some time, and now rapid delivery is further strengthening the digital channel’s appeal, Coresight reported in its latest US Online Grocery Survey, which included input from more than 2,000 consumers.

A California-based truck driver has been sentenced to four years and eight months in state prison after pleading guilty to causing a fiery chain-reaction crash on Interstate 10 that killed three people and injured four others last year. Jashanpreet Singh, 21, of Yuba City, California, was sentenced Tuesday after pleading guilty in June to three felony counts of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence in connection with the Oct. 21, 2025, crash on westbound I-10 near the Interstate 15 interchange in Ontario, California, according to the Los Angeles Times. DoorDash on Tuesday announced a deeper dive into the retail world by allowing independent merchants on Shopify that also have a physical store to easily add their product catalog to the DoorDash marketplace, further highlighting how it is becoming a competitor to Amazon, Walmart, Uber Eats, Roadie and legion of independent couriers in the on-demand e-commerce delivery space. In October, the company began offering fulfillment services for retailers such as CVS and Party City, using its network of DashMart neighborhood stores. More than 200,000 auto parts and accessories are now available for delivery on-demand through AutoParts.com on the DoorDash app, in partnership with a network of independent automotive parts distributors, under a deal between the companies in June.

The self-driving company announced in a blog post that its Waabi Driver software, trained exclusively on a Peterbilt 579, took control of a Volvo VNL Autonomous truck and drove it safely on highways and complex surface streets from the very first mile. To prove the Waabi Driver’s ability to generalize in this way, Waabi collaborated with partner Volvo Autonomous Solutions to integrate the Waabi Driver onto the Volvo VNL Autonomous. Before this, the Waabi Driver was used to driving a Peterbilt 579.

PepsiCo made gains in sustainable sourcing after adjusting its sustainability program’s targets last year, according to an annual report from the food giant published this month. The Doritos maker said 70% of its ingredients were sustainably sourced in 2025, up from 66% the year prior.

Postal Service is transporting more First-Class Mail and Marketing Mail via air to satisfy its air cargo contract with UPS and avoid higher rates, according to a July 1 report from the agency's Office of Inspector General. However, it focused on the Postal Service's primary air cargo contract that began on Sept. 30, 2024, which aligns with the characteristics of the UPS agreement. The contract's volume requirement means the Postal Service has "little choice but to fly First-Class Mail" to make up for the shortfall and avoid higher expenses, per the report.
